One morning, Rita Kapoor, the reigning queen of the Indian film industry, wakes up to find the second half of the vast double bed unmade but empty.

It had not been empty when Rita had fallen asleep the night before.

Rita’s husband is nowhere to be found inside the heavily guarded palatial mansion.

Rajat Kapoor, corporate czar and multimillionaire, economic advisor to a succession of Indian Prime Ministers and on-and-off film producer, is not contactable on his cellphone, which is switched off. He never went to his office; never returns home.

Rajat simply vanishes.

As police detectives attempt to uncover the mystery of this sudden disappearance, other people connected with Rajat Kapoor also vanish. Is there a common thread?
